Recovering?

What an awesome weekend :-) Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making the ride so much fun. A bit stiff today - stairs are definitely a no go! Looking forward to reading Alice's trip report - that notebook was a genius idea!

Hi Nicky.

I'm so pleased that you had a good weekend :) I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning at 6am to go into work. I suspect I'll be taking a power nap at lunchtime!!

I fell out with my alarm clock this morning, rudely reminding me at 6.15 that I had to go to work :(

Legs aren't too bad actually, maybe have to try harder next time!

Naturally the best recovery technique I can think of is to sit around doing nothing, drinking tea.

Once again thanks for a brilliant trip guys, I'm well up for doing more.

My legs are ok, but I have very little sensation in my hands from cycling over rough ground with crappo gloves and no suspension. I can just about manage to hold a cuppa tea, however. So all is not lost.

Thanks for a brill weekend. It was great meeting y'all. :)

Just wanted to say thanks to all for making everything about the weekend, on and off the bike, such a totally fantastic experience.

From all the ride guides work, both on the ride; fixing anything and everything, motivating and leading us and also behind the scenes; getting everything from route planning to breakfast choices organised. I know there is a huge amount that goes on that we don't even see, you just make it look so easy, you're all total stars.

And of course, to the wonderful people that made it such a fun experience, both new faces and old friends. What would we have done with out tangfastic breaks, sugar rush yum, massages, hmmm lovely, and silly conversations to take our minds off the pain, grins.

My thanks go particularly to the following pple, they know who they are; the lovely lady who introduced me to kendal mint cake, the fab chap who didn't leave us behind on day 1, the stars who attempted to fix my bike, my lovely saturday night dance partner, saturday night highs; wonderful company, stories, massages and hugs, the dashing young man who commented on my improved fitness and last but most definately not least, my totally ace sweetie buddies and cycling steam train partner/s in crime! I apologise for any misleading information i may have accidently given you guys, what can I say, except I apologise for my rose tinted memory, I did warn you! And remember no matter what, this is definately the last hill and of course there's only 8 miles to go!!!

What a totally amazing bunch of people, you're all ace and I can't wait to see you again on future rides. If any of you are ever in the Leeds area please don't hesitate to get in touch, it would be lovely to see you.

With love to all, Alice -x-

Its been a long day when concentration was not my best trait. I have felt pleasantly knackered all day though I must say I am glad not to bear the scars of some after the weekend. I hope Andys leg was not too bad, Ginnys ankle is enjoying a rest and everyone else is happily recovering from an excellent weekend filled with many happy memories.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend its great to meet old friends and make new ones whilst pushing yourself to extremes it makes the days shared experiences of toils and triumphs the sweeter being able to reexamine them in the evenings mixed with catching up on other rides or making new friends. Saturday night was especially memorable. Thanks as always for great organisation and support from Craz and Gaz, Matt and Andy (though why I should thank him for all the insults I'm not quite sure especially as he has a years more experience!!)

THis year really did seem shorter on the second day, maybe they did knock down a hill!!!

Anyway before I fall asleep over the key board I have put pictures onto Facebook if are not a member follow the link http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3 ... =826499390

Thanks again for a great weekend. See you next year.

Yep I did find the notebook, though I'm not sure that the majority of it can be published, thanks to certain people, who shall remain nameless, abusing it, lol! I'll see what I can do to edit it and make it slightly more appropriate for public consumption, whilst still retaining the hilarity value, though be warned I am a mathematician so writing is far from my forte. I'll keep you updated. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics on facebook people. :-) Love to all, Alice -x-

Hi y'all
I just want to say thanks to you all for a fantastic trip.
The hard work is done by Craz, Gaz and Matt leaving me to fart about on the ride.
As for the diary, it was the voices in my head wot made me do it

My knee is oozing (lovely) and a super shade of purple. But I'm sure it'll be okay in a day or two.

I've down loaded my photos to facebook. Some of you are way to cool

Hey why not book up another ride now to beat the PRD. I promise to behave next time. yeah right

I had a lovely day off on Monday - well we do recommend it!

Cycling to work and back is mega lonely though - I turn around and there's no one there. (Yes I know - that's because they're all in front of you... Ed. )

Agree with Pam and Sian, that this year seemed shorter (however my clock says that I did 154 miles) and, dare I say it, a bit easier!? Maybe it was because everyone gave the Old Coach Road everything and we had visibility, I don't know. You guys were great and I thoroughly enjoyed riding with you! Thanks especially to Alan, Ian and Andy for all the repair work.

Hope that the last day's ride will convince more of you to ride off road next year? It's fun, trust me.....

I, too, live in Leeds, so if anyone wants to go riding just shout. Am willing to travel.

Hope to see you all again sometime!

Cheers,

Matt.

PS Anybody else been really hungry these past few days?
PPS Did anyone take the red bike off Paul - I think he'd grown quite attached to it

Well good to see everyone had a good time once again this year. I was no exception. Good to see some familar faces and some new riders. I dont usuallty get PRD but the realistaion I dont have any ride to look forward too hit me this morning. I will have to find something. I too like others did not have Monday off so felt pretty knackered at work.

I second Matt's comments about thanking Ian, Andy and Alan for providing excellent mechanical backup. Despite not needing any help it was good to know we had all the right people.

I was also glad I did all the offroad sections this year after missing out last year through injury. I couldnt quite attain the standards on the downhills set by Ian however.

Hope to see you all again soon on another ride may be next years Hadrian Wall C2C if not before.

Thanks everyone for a great ride
