Sea2Sea2007 - Chat here if you rode it

Postby GazRideGuide on Sat Oct 20, 2007 9:50 pm

We lost all the posts under this thread - we've had a few challenges with this forum - still trying to figure some stuff out

If you posted to this topic - please please re-post - tell us how you thought the trip went?

For me this was three days spent in a parallel universe with a set of people I feel like I've known for years - but I met most people on this ride for the first time! After being with them, watching them push through their own personal hell, we got close, real close. Those are some of the closest friends I have today. I was inspired by some, entertained by others and loved every minute of their company. I miss you all greatly.

The week following the ride has had me feeling some of the worst PCD yet. Can't wait to meet up with you all again some time.

After a week I am now looking back and it seems so long ago. Normal life has taken over again. Having set myself the challenge of completing the Coast to coast some months ago and now having completed it I have to say that it won't be the last time. I know I can't just go back to my normal cycling routine I need another challenge and the exhilaration of competing it.

Thanks again for everyones support and encouragement, it made the ride even more special.

My best bits were definitely the hills, the feeling of satisfaction at getting to the top of each one was worth the weeks of preparation. Next time I will be even fitter so hopefully won't be the cows tail!!!! Though it has its advantages.
:P
I am definitely going to seek out some more hills to cycle over winter and I will have to get use to putting my bike on the back of the car to go further afield so I don't spend half the day getting to them.

I hope to see you again next year on one or other of the rides organised as I hope to do a few of them with Joanne who is raring to go despite the fact she still is waiting for a diagnosis regarding her knee.

Speak to you soon

Hi Again Everybody,

Hope you are all OK and fully recovered. I can't believe Gaz and Craz have lost all previous posts in this topic. Was out on the bike at the weekend in the lovely weather did two 40 mile rides all be it on the road as the mountain bike is now in bits getting cleaned. As the weather gets poorer I will probabaly start riding the mountain more offroad near where i /live because I need the practice for future rides with you guys. but i dont i will conquer my fear of going down hill fast esepecially steepoff road sections having come off too many times in the past. The lat thing I want to do is kiil myself because i wont be able to partake in future rides.

Hope to see you all again sometime

Jonathan

Ps Gary I havent seen you on the train lately
