NOT LONG TO GO NOW

Postby Yvonne on Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:28 pm

Hi everyone I just wondered how everybodys training is going :D
Im REALLY looking forward to the ride but I'm just a bit nervous because I never managed to get down to York for the pre-ride get together so I don't know anybody and I'm quite shy!! :(
I just wondered whether anybody would like to email me between now and the ride so that I could get to know some of you a bit.
Anyways hope the training is going well for everybody (I just wish some of you lived nearer so we could have done a couple of rides together, I feel a bit away from it all up here in Newcastle)
Please do email if you want, I'd love to hear from some of you to hear how things are going etc.
bye for now
best wishes
Yvonne :D

Hi Yvonne,

Nice to 'meet' you! :-)

Training is going okay thank you, how about you? I'm cycling in and out of work everyday (don't worry, it's only 5 miles!) which is good but I've not done anywhere near as much long distance as I planned to, rides keep getting rained off, I think the weather has something against me training!! Plus having cycled everyday during the week I'm a little less enthusiastic when it comes to cycling again at the weekend. So am a little bit concerned I haven't done enough but I'm looking forward to the ride none-the-less. :-)

Don't worry I didn't managed to make it to the York get together either, which I'm gutted about, it would have been really nice to meet people and recognise a few faces before the ride, but I'm sure after the 3 days we'll all know each other very well!! :-)

Anyways, you take care of yourself and good luck with the training. :-)

Hi Yvonne,

Looking forward to meeting you on the ride. In the meantime if you fancy a gawp at two fellow riders publically humiliating themselves (myself and my wee sister Heen) then our training blog will provide you with more than enough information that is strictly require to get to know us :)

Enjoy!

Hi ladies,

some useful advice from a mate of mine that i wanted to share

"don’t forget the zany give-way-to-the-right nonsense, from some dutch website “All traffic coming from the right (including bicycles) has right of way.”… you can see more at:

http://us.holland.com/e/9625/Traffic+rules.php "
See you in te days - eeek!
