Unfortunately I won't be going on this Amsterdam trip (the first CharityAdventure event I will have missed since we started this whole crazy escapade!) :(

I'll probably be still trying to recover from organising the other one, but I know you'll all have a fantastic time!!!

Amsterslamer

Postby Andy Wills on Thu Mar 06, 2008 8:48 pm

I've just agreed to act as a guide (thanks Matt) so I'd better get the dutch road map out.
How much off road is there on this one Craz? I'm determined to get the fixie on one of the trips.

Any news on the delivery of our funky new yellow ganzies?

Andy from Redcar aged 50 and a half, going on 12.

Hi Andy.

Michelle and Jill both did the Amsterdame event last year on road bikes so you should be fine! There's a section on the run in to Hull along the humber which is very bumpy but do-able :)

The shirts are due to arrive before the FourChurches event at the end of the month, possibly before

I'd better loose the beer gut then before the shirts arrive, otherwise I end up with the spayed on look that Mark is going for.

Er...I think you mean 'sprayed' there Andy!

Thanks for coming on board. And thanks to Chaz, Kaz and Gaz (v2) for signing up - we'll have a fantastic time. And no, it isn't compulsory to shorten your name and add a 'z' when you join a ride!

So I'm Matt - not Maz, it just doesn't work! I'm the organiser of this event and will also be ride guiding, so any queries you have please contact me about them. I'm 37 and a bit, live in Pudsey, Leeds and apparently look very much like my avatar.

Funny Guy......although I suppose I shouldn't have gone cycling in the North Sea on last year's Sea2Sea.

When you see Mark in his new jersey you'll see that 'spayed' is infact correct.

Magic Roundabout

Postby Andy Wills on Sun Apr 06, 2008 7:49 pm

Actually Matt your Avitar is a striking similarity to Mr McHenry on his tricycle, in the old Magic Roundabout cartoons.

As for the real thing, I've never seen you on a trike. :D

Hi Jade,

Welcome to the forum. God knows it needs brightening up, if not just to keep Matt quiet when he's on his post-ride-depression rants :D hehe.

How was Barcelona??

Rich.

Barcelona was great thanks. It seems like ages ago now though. I'm gearing up for my next holiday...Greece in three weeks time. It's a cheap and cheerful one with my mates!

I did a car boot sale at Knavesmire on Sat. I got a couple of people from work to bring me some old bits and bobs in over the week, then I car booted them in aid of the Amsterslam ride. Once I'd take off the float etc I made £50. Thought it wasn't bad for a bit of a last minute thing, so I'm going to try another one in June. I'm going to ask the whole office for donations this time and see if I can't make a bit more to add to my sponsorship.
