EMERGENCY CONTACT

Postby Andy Wills on Tue Sep 04, 2007 11:08 am

There have been scores of case in the past where cyclists, walkers and the like have met with an accident or mishap which has required the emegency services to contact their next of kin. Many people do not carry any form of ID or details of N.O.K. on them which can create a delay in notifying N.O.K.

As most of us carry a mobile when we are out we can overcome the problem. Simply add the entry I.C.E. (In Case of Emengency) to your contact list.
Enter the contact and their phone number.
I have three alternatives. ICE 1/ICE 2 etc

In the event of accident your contact can be notified.

Just try not to land on your phone if you fall off

...and for what it's worth, we now ask for emergency contact details from everyone before each ride. It's also forming part of next years ride entry forms and - I think (Gaz?) - will be part of the online run-through that riders will do before any 08 event.

Having them in your phone is a great idea though Andy. I'll add that to the next email-shot...
Craz.

Why not join us for a cycle ride for charity?!
