Crash-Tinkle

 Had a bizarre accident yesterday.

Picture a long steep hill with a cluster of houses at the bottom. Local council erect an electronic 30mph sigh which lights up if you exceed the limit on approach to the village.
Red rag to a bull? you betcha. Anyway manage to satisfy the school boy left in me by lighting up the sign, when ZAP owww. Wasp enters shirt at 40mph ish. Stings me on the shoulder.

Made an attempt to stop further stings by holding shirt away from body with one hand, braking like a demon with other hand. Unclip left foot from cleat and step of stationary bike. Unfortunately bike was still doing 10mph as I went to step off. Clipped kerb and launched myself over the bars.

Luckily only minor scratches to the bike (Cannondale R1000) Small amount of skin /tarmac transfer and a few bruises.

Witness said it looked spectacular and could I do it again so they can send the video footage to You Tube

OMG!!!

Glad to hear that you're relatively unscathed!

And where was the hill again? I might have to try it too!!

There's a 30mph sign near me in Glasshoughton but I doubt I'd get up to the required speed as the hill is only slight!!
Craz.

Why not join us for a cycle ride for charity?!
